Why is it so important to maintain a healthy diet!?
Well, there are several reasons. As we hit the new year and had our new year resolutions and goals let us break the one apart about eating healthier. That seems to be something my inner circle deals with.
“My problem is eating right, I love my junk food. I think I will try to have like nuts and other kinds of healthy fats and natural sugars.” -Friend K—-http://franciascorner.com/cliche/
So, as I was doing research I ran into several reasons why one must maintain a healthy diet and some recommend foods and their benefits.
Following a healthy well-balanced diet reduces the risks of obesity, heart disease, cancer, chronic heart disease, diabetes and so much more! Crazy! Right!!? Just by eating healthier you can keep yourself alive longer!! A healthy diet does not just mean what is consumed but also hitting the gym or even the trails! Eating high-quality proteins, intaking carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and water will keep your body rejuvenated. The vitamins and minerals help regrow cells, nails, hair and keep the immune system up. “Vitamins A, C, and E, for example, act as antioxidants to protect your cells against toxins, and B vitamins help you extract energy from the foods you eat.”–http://healthyeating.sfgate.com/
A healthy diet not only keeps your immune system up but it helps control weight, diseases from entering your body. If they do enter the vitamins the body is able to build strong “army” cells.
The body is an amazing design that is meant to be taken care of. If taken great care of it will not only keep you physically healthy but mentally as well. When one’s mind is clear of all havoc the body is able to function better. It keeps you in a great mood and reduces the risk of being depressed. Depression is something that so many of the world struggle with. Have a good mind frame will help the world look more half full than half empty. Healthy eating also can be really wonderful tasting foods. A lot of times we see eating healthy as a way to take in all our broccoli and not so great tasting things. As you see below, (picture was taken by my friend)the plate of cheese that has a lot of the healthy fats our bodies crave. Healthy eating is not something we wake up and do unless we set out minds to it. Eating healthy just like anything else requires discipline and mental desire to keep moving forward. IF eating healthier was your new years’ goals then remember to extend grace to yourself if you mess up along the way. Healthy eating is the keep of a happy mind, heart, and soul.
